Double-Wide Mini-Electrophoretic Blotting System

Designed for Western, Southern, or Northern blotting, these units feature electrode panels mounted with platinum wire spaced at 2.5cm (1") intervals for even current distribution over the entire gel surface. Proteins and nucleic acids from agarose or acrylamide gels can be transferred onto nitrocellulose, nylon, DEAE, or other derivatized paper. The double-wide and triple-wide systems are ideal for separations of larger numbers of samples in the mini-vertical format. Up to three 15x21.5cm (5 7 / 8 x8 1 / 2 ") gels can be processed simultaneously in the standard system ( CBEBU-102 ). The mini-system ( CBEBU-204 ) can run up to four 9x11cm (3 1 / 2 x4 5 / 16 ") gels simultaneously. The double-wide system ( CBEBU-402 ) holds up to two 9x20cm (3 1 / 2 x7 7 / 8 ") cassettes; the triple-wide system ( CBEBU-302 ) holds two extra-wide 9x32.8cm (3 1 / 2 x12 15 / 16 ") cassettes — each of which can transfer six standard-size or two triple-wide gels simultaneously. A stirring bar may be placed beneath the cassettes for circulation and heat exchange. Ordering Information: Each blotting system is supplied with two platinum electrode panels, one gel cassette assembly, electrophoresis chamber with cooling base, safety cover with attached power leads, and tubing adapters. Gel cassettes include two Scotch-Brite™ pads and hinged perforated fiberglass panels. Replacement Scotch-Brite™ pads are supplied in packs of two.
